There is a battle happening right now in the UK. In the main it’s being fought by hundreds of the finest keyboard commandos Scotland has to offer.
However what is happening more frequently is the modern day equivalent of the brown shirted, jack boots. Following like lost souls a Scotsman, a self-proclaimed and non ordained “reverend” who lives in England. This man is not even eligible to vote yet has somehow warped the minds of people into following his “Blue Book” and venomous hate filled website. I’ve posted an example of a few random tweets of his to give you an example of the ‘man’.
The Yes campaign insists it has nothing to do with the current party in power and its glorious leader (despite only being in power due to a 44% turn out at the polls) and everything that the Yes campaign is for is for the benefit of Scotland. I’ve heard that before and my 3rd picture is where that level of justification lays.
Social media is exactly the opposite with hate filled comments and personal attacks, turning friends and family against each other. There is nothing social about any of the pages on facebook or the timelines of Twitter in relation to this “debate”
This is more than a debate; this is about the lives of millions of people, all on the line due to a megalomaniac seeking to go down in history as the man who brought Scotland ”freedom”. There is misconception here of being oppressed of epic proportions after watching a fictional American made movie, starring an Australian actor which was filmed in Ireland.
What the Yes voters don’t appreciate is just how free they already are. Having been around the world and seen some pretty awful places and things, I have witnessed oppression first hand. I can understand their rationale for more powers to a sovereign parliament; however i cannot understand their desire to isolate a nation, on a island from its neighbours.
There are too many unanswered questions for me to ever say Yes. Here is a link to the top 100 so far that has been put out there;
I have had threats on FB following the mere agreement of a post far less anything else.
It does not paint a good picture of the future for the country I love.
